How To Make Protein Balls – No Bake

how to make protein balls

Pretty much every day i crave chocolate, and a cup of tea – of course. It must be a girl thing because i don’t know a guy that suffers with this issue. (unless they just don’t admit it). So finding healthy, easy, but still yummy sweet alternatives is very much on my to-do-list. I’ve seen so many protein ball recipes circling around the internet, but most require all the fancy things like flax seeds, chia seeds and every other seed my cupboards just don’t have. So i had a rummage and rustled up my own version. It was very much a trial, but they turned out perfect first time! Go me! 😉 If you don’t have protein powder these will still work! Just add some more oats to compensate, and the nuts will still give you a protein packed treat! So here’s how to make protein balls:

1 cup oats
1 scoop protein powder ( i use THIS vanilla one)
1/2 cup any nut butter of choice ( i used meridian almond butter)
1 tbs melted coconut oil
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts (i used pistachios & broken up pecan nuts)
1/4 cup maple syrup (i use organic & 100% natural)
8 chunks melted dark chocolate (for toppings)

Literally combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl into a dough like mixture
roll into desired size ball shapes
roll the protein balls in the dark chocolate so completely covered
place all protein balls on a plate/tray and place in fridge for 30 mins

Easy as that! You could literally just use a coffee cup for measuring, and if you feel the mixture isn’t combining enough add more nut butter or maple syrup. Feel free to add chocolate chunks or dried fruit if you wish, and check out my protein bar recipe here for another yummy treat if you fancy it! Enjoy! xox

  1. I’ve been trying to incorporate more protein in my diet recently and these look like a delicious way to do it! What a great recipe 🙂
