I’ll admit, cardio isn’t my favourite thing. The thought of running for hours on end just fills me with boredom and dread. So i like to keep things short and effective. HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts are a great way to build up your fitness, burn fat and not have to spend hours on end in the gym. If possible i try to do a HIIT workout 3 times a week and the one i’m loving at the moment is the treadmill one below. It’s just 26 minutes (although i usually run an extra 4 to round it up to 30) and is really helping burn fat, particularly on my stomach. When i first started my speed was much slower, so don’t push yourself too much too soon. The walk should be a power walk, but slow enough to let your heart rate slow, the mid run just an average speed that starts to tire you a little and the faster run should make your heart rate rise quickly, and you’re thankful for the speed to go back down after 2 minutes. Give it a go and you’ll soon work out what speed works best for you!
I’d love to know how you get on with this fat burning workout! If you like to lift weights, this is a great HIIT workout you can add after those sessions, and it will help get you lean and more muscle definition showing! xox
